Cops Called to Arguments at Burger King, on the Phone, over a Car: Mount Kisco Police Blotter

Here are some of the incidents to which Westchester County Police recently responded in Mount Kisco.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent calls to which the Westchester County Police responded in Mount Kisco.

Friday, April 7 – 1:16 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the Stop N Shop parking lot on North Bedford Road on a report that a vehicle was struck and damaged by another car while its owner had been shopping. No witnesses to the hit-and- run incident could be located.

Thursday, April 6 – 4:42 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Diplomat Drive on a report that an unknown vehicle was parked in a resident’s assigned space. Building management informed officers that it was arranging to have the vehicle towed.

11:30 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Burger King on North Bedford Road on a report that a teen-aged boy and his mother were involved in a loud argument that was escalating. The boy was calm upon an officer’s arrival and his mother reported that the situation was under control and she did not need assistance.

10 a.m. – A Florida woman was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court on warrants issued in 2012 charging her with Grand Larceny 3 rd Degree, Forgery and Identity Theft. Shannon Truax, 46, of Hallandale, Fla., was recently arrested by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department in Florida during a traffic stop when a computer check revealed she was wanted in Mount Kisco. Detectives from the county police Warrant-Fugitive Unit went to Florida to take her into custody and returned her to Westchester on the night of April 5.

Truax is accused withdrawing $7,000 in cash from a Connecticut woman’s account by presenting false documents at a Mount Kisco bank in May 2012. She was remanded without bail to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.

Wednesday, April 5 – 10:19 a.m. – A Barker Street resident contacted county police to report that her daughter was refusing her request to return a car that she had leased. The woman said she leased the car with the agreement that her daughter would make the payments but her daughter had fallen behind. An officer made contact with the daughter and advised her that she could be charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle if she did not return the car as requested. Arrangements were worked out for the vehicle’s return within the hour.

Tuesday, April 4 – 4:48 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to the 300 block of East Main Street on a report that a possibly emotionally disturbed man was walking down the street yelling obscenities. An officer located a man wearing earbuds attached to a cell phone who acknowledged that he had just been in a heated argument on the phone.

Monday, April 3 – 12:37 a.m. – Two 19-year- old men were issued summonses for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana following a traffic stop in the 300 block of East Main Street. An officer who stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the car and observed a green leafy substance on a notebook on the floor behind the driver’s seat. The driver and passenger were each found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and were issued summonses at the scene.

Sunday, April 2 – 3:22 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to the BP gas station on East Main Street on a report that a youth had stolen several bottles of NyQuil from the station’s convenience store. The clerk said that two other youths made a small purchase of snacks and distracted him while the third youth took the Nyquil. The clerk reviewed store security tapes after the youths left and saw that a theft had occurred.

11:48 a.m. – Tires on three cars parked at Mount Kisco Storage on Kensico Drive were slashed, apparently in the overnight hours. The matter was turned over to detectives for additional investigation.

9:30 a.m. – A village resident reported to Westchester County Police that someone used his Macy’s card to charge a $40 purchase at an out-of- state Macy’s store. The victim was advised to contact Macy’s to cancel the card. The case was turned over to detectives for additional investigation.
