Cops Extradite Woman to Mount Kisco From Florida

An arrest warrant accused her of taking money from a Connecticut resident.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — A Florida woman was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court Thursday on warrants issued in 2012 charging her with Grand Larceny 3 rd Degree, Forgery and Identity Theft. Shannon Truax, 46, of Hallandale, Fla., was recently arrested by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department in Florida during a traffic stop.

That's when a computer check revealed she was wanted in Mount Kisco. So detectives from the Westchester County police Warrant-Fugitive Unit went to Florida to take her into custody and returned her to Westchester on the night of April 5.

Truax is accused withdrawing $7,000 in cash from a Connecticut woman’s account by presenting false documents at a Mount Kisco bank in May 2012. She was remanded without bail to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.
