Cortlandt Manor's Copland House Profiled in NY Times

Musicians were working on a concert for the venue.

Cortlandt Manor was in the spotlight over the weekend with a story about musicians rehearsing for a concert at the historic Copland House.

The ensemble Music From Copland House was profiled as they worked on a recent performance, according to an article in the New York Times.

The Copland House was the home of American composer Aaron Copland. He lived there from 1960 to 1990, which were the last 30 years of his life, the organization’s website said.

Michael Boriskin, executive director and artistic director of Copland House, was playing piano, while violinist Nicholas Kitchen and cellist Wilhelmina Smith also rehearsed.

The next concert at Copland House, which is located at 455 Byram Lake Rd. will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 6.
