DAR & CAR Chapters Support Troops with Valentines

Group effort to show active military that they're loved and appreciated.

From Polly Cooper NSDAR: Chapter members combined their efforts with members of the John Jay Society, NSCAR to create Valentine’s Day care packages for service members stationed away from home. DAR members wrapped treats for the packages while CAR members made Valentine's Day cards. The boxes were then shipped to arrive on time for Valentine's Day, in hopes of reminding of troops of how much they are appreciated. Polly Cooper Chapter member and DAR Project Patriot Chair, Margery Kirsch said, "It was a fun way to come together to work on this meaningful project that we hope will serve as a reminder to our patriots that we are so grateful for their service."

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members are descended from patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With 178,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
