Imagine… You go to get your car serviced and the mechanic tells you that three of the six cylinders are not working. Would you drive off and forget about it or get them fixed?
Better yet… You are on a plane and the captain announces that two of the four engines are not working, but he is on a schedule and is going to take off anyway. Do you stay on the plane?
If you are the kind of person that wants their cars and planes functioning well before you go for a ride, why do you not apply the same principles to yourself?

Let me ask you a couple of questions about the choices you make in your daily life to highlight the absurdity of our lives in 2013:
- Do you say “yes” to a request to please someone in your life, when your to do list is already hopelessly long?
- Do you typically prioritize your to do list to take care of others before you take care of yourself?
- Are your personal batteries seemingly always in need of a recharge, but you never take a break? Or when you do take that break, your energy level still seems lower than you can ever remember it being?
According to Wikipedia, my husband’s favorite source for information, Joie de Vivre is a French phrase often used in English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life or an exultation of spirit. I love the phrase joie de vivre. Cheerful, enjoyment, exultation, spirit. When two of your four personal engines are not working or three of your six spiritual cylinders are in need of repair, it is hard to find the joie in your vivre.

Am I right?
I changed the name of my business from Ingredients for a Balanced Life to The Relationship Warrior because I am so TIRED of women letting life run them over, and I wanted to share what I have learned. I have had to find my inner strength again and again to stand up for the life I want. Over time, I have learned that if I stay focused on my Joie…de…Vivre, everyone in my life wins.
Trust me, it will be the same for you!!!
On those days in particular, I try to remember Joie….de….Vivre.
Please remember to prioritize yourself on your to do list. Say no once in a while – it’s empowering.
