Domestic Disputes/ Sword Cut/ Motorcycle Misunderstanding: Police Blotter
Here are some of the incidents Westchester police responded to in Mount Kisco.

Friday, Sept. 25 – 3:29 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a laundromat on Main Street on a complaint that a man was sleeping on one of the sorting tables. The man was advised he could not sleep there and left the premises.
1 a.m. – David Vanwart, 28, of North Moger Avenue was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, a felony, after he allegedly struck his roommate’s friend with a decorative sword during a dispute at his residence. The victim suffered a cut to his hand but declined medical attention. An order or protection was issued barring Vanwart from having any further contact with the injured man.
Thursday, Sept. 24 – 4:06 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Diplomat Drive on a report that people were trapped in an elevator. Building staff were able to resolve the problem without police or fire department assistance.

Wednesday, Sept. 23 – 10:30 a.m. – A resident of Spring Street complained to Westchester County Police that some small scratches he discovered on his car were apparently caused by debris falling from an adjacent home, where roof work is under way. Workers from the roofing company denied responsibility. The complainant was advised that the dispute was a civil matter, not a police matter.
Tuesday, Sept. 22 – 2:12 p.m. – Westchester County Police received a report that an elderly woman had fallen in her front yard on St. Mark’s Place and needed help. The woman told an officer who responded that she had been weeding and had not fallen down.

Sunday, Sept. 20 – 12:36 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a business on Radio Circle on an activated burglar alarm. The premises were secure and the alarm appears to have sounded in error.
5:32 p.m. – A resident of Moore Avenue reported that her car has been missing since the morning and she believes that her brother and a friend had taken it without her permission. The woman called back at 6 p.m. to report that she had found the car parked on West Hyatt Avenue and no longer wanted it reported as stolen.
6:30 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to the parking lot at 3 Main Street after a man called to say he feared that three men were going to steal his motorcycle. The man told officers that a white BMW with three men inside had circled the area around him in the lot and appeared to be eyeing his motorcycle. The man said the car drove off after he took out his cell phone and began filming it. As officers were speaking with him, the BMW returned. The driver told officers he was circling the lot because a fourth friend had gone into a local deli and they were waiting for him to come out. The driver was angry that the motorcycle operator had begun yelling at him and filming him and said he had returned to ask the man what his problem was. All parties were advised to go their separate ways, and the BMW and motorcycle left the area without further incident.
Saturday, Sept. 19 – 3:17 p.m. – A Mount Kisco woman reported to Westchester County Police that she had received a threatening text message from the father of her child. An officer contacted the man to tell him that he had to address any visitation issues through Westchester County Family Court and that he could face arrest if he persisted with harassing or threatening messages.
3:53 p.m. – Westchester County police responded to a residence on Grove Street on a report of a domestic disturbance between a father and his adult son. The father reported that the dispute was mostly verbal, but his son did push him before leaving the house. The father did not wish to pursue any criminal charge.
9:22 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Amuso Drive on a report that a woman was having trouble breathing. The Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and transported the woman to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.
11:21 p.m. – A resident of Grove Street reported that a man tried to rob him at knifepoint as he walked on Lundy Lane. The victim said he was approached by a white male, 5-feet-10 to 6-feet tall, who yelled “Give me your money.” The victim also stated that the man swiped at his stomach area with a 6-inch knife. The victim said he knocked the knife from the man’s hand and ran to Grove Street, where he called 911. Officers canvassed the area but could not locate the suspect. The case remains under investigation by detectives from the General Investigations Unit.
