'Double-Dipping' Thief Steals Delivery Truck With 147 Cases Of Chips, 48 Containers Of Salsa On Board: WCPD
The 25-year-old Mount Kisco man found a spare key under a floorboard of the box truck parked at a Stamford supermarket, according to cops.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — A Westchester man almost had the makings of an epic Super Bowl party, but his heist crumbled right before his eyes.
The Westchester County Police Department says that 25-year-old Hugo Lopez-Ramos, of Mount Kisco, was arrested after he was found driving a stolen box truck filled with 147 cases of chips and two cases (48 containers) of salsa.
The delivery truck and its cargo had been stolen outside a supermarket in Stamford, Connecticut on Thursday, around 5:30 a.m. While the delivery driver reported that he had not left the vehicle running, the suspect managed to find a spare key hidden under the floorboard.

A few hours later, at 7:49 a.m., the Real Time Crime Center broadcast an alert that the stolen truck was traveling along North Bedford Road, near Preston Way in Mount Kisco.
As officers began to search for the truck, a patrol sergeant soon spotted it on Main Street, near South Moger Avenue. He followed it to Maple Avenue, where the suspect pulled into the parking lot of the Mount Kisco Community Center.

Lopez-Ramos was soon arrested and taken to the Mount Kisco precinct. The vehicle was towed, and the Stamford Police Department and the truck owner were notified.
WCPD says that while he was in a holding cell, Lopez-Ramos became upset and began striking himself in the face, causing injury. Mount Kisco VAC transported him to the hospital, escorted by police officers. He was released a few hours later and officers brought him back to the precinct for processing.
Due to the theft of the delivery truck and "4 grand worth of snacks," Lopez-Ramos was charged with felony third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property; and misdemeanor third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
He was arraigned Thursday night in the Mount Kisco Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
"We get it: everybody loves nachos," the Westchester County Police Department said in a tongue-in-cheek social media post about the snack snatching. "But if it's nacho truck, you can't take it even if it's full of chips and salsa."
