Buy your bird seed and support Bedford Audubon Society at the same time! By purchasing seed from Bedford Audubon, you support our critical avian research, educational programs for the community, and our beautiful wildlife sanctuaries.
We strive to provide you with a variety of high-quality seed at a competitive market rate. Our bird seed mixes have none of the "fillers" you find in cheaper mixes -- attracting more birds to your property with less waste. We offer sunflower seeds and chips, safflower, and thistle (Nyger); both an economy and select mixes; and cracked corn, whole peanuts, and two kinds of suet cakes.
New this year! Order meadow seed to convert your lawn into a wildlife oasis! Plant the same meadow that we’ll be installing at the Leon Levy Native Garden. Meadows attract far more butterflies, dragonflies, and birds to your property and are easier and less expensive to maintain than lawns. They can be planted in fall or spring. Once you’ve purchased your seed, join us for a free workshop at Bylane Farm on November 6 at 7pm to learn how to prepare and plant your new meadow. Our meadow seed mix contains beautiful forbs like Pearly Everlasting, Columbine, Butterfly Weed, Smooth Blue and Calico Asters, Hairy Wood Mint, Partridge Pea, Indian Paintbrush, Pasture Thistle, Great St. John’s Wort, Round-headed Bush Clover, Marsh Blazing Star, Pale Spiked Lobelia, Wild Bergamot, Spotted Bee Balm, Wood Betony, Foxglove and Hairy Beardtongues, Slender Mountain Mint, Black-eyed Susan, Early and Old Field Goldenrods, Ohio Spiderwort, and Golden Alexanders with grasses, sedges, and rushes like Little Bluestem, Prairie Brome, Brown Fox Sedge, Silky Wild Rye, Squirrel-Tail Grass, and Purple Top.
