Fox Lane Gets by Greeley in Volleyball in 4 games
Foxes win by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-16.

When the Horace Greeley and Fox Lane volleyball teams last met, it was marked by controversy from the officials. This time around it was the players who took care of everything.
At Fox Lane, the Foxes were able to win the final two sets of the match to win 3 games to 1 by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-16.
The first set helped to set the tone for the rest of the match as the game was close and both teams found themselves each going over 20 points.

Greeley had the serve with the score as close as 22-20 but could not complete a comeback. Fox Lane won the set on an ace and took the lead 1-0.
In the second set, the Quakers were able to jump out to an 18-12 lead before Fox Lane rallied to tie the score at 19.

Greeley though was able to even the match at a set apiece, winning the final point when a Fox Lane couldn't put its last serve in play.
In the third set, Greeley led 20-15 and looked like it would take a 2-1 lead before Fox Lane put together a strong comeback. The Foxes ended up tying the score at 24 and won the set with two aces.
Fox Lane Head Coach Joel Stanford talked how pleased he was with the performance of some of his younger players.
"Its good for our younger kids to play Greeley. We had a lot of our younger kids playing the whole time and it's good for their confidence," he said. "They get to come out, they're under pressure and it's good for us going into the playoffs. It's good for us prepping for next year.
With Fox Lane in the lead 2 sets to 1, Greeley was going to have to try to come back, but it wasn't to be.
Fox Lane opened up a 22-14 lead and put the finishing touches on a victory.
Greeley Head Coach Gina Gomes was disappointed in the loss but felt like she could take away some positives.
"I feel like they're very disciplined and that they did a great job today," she said.
