Friedricks Interiors: Accent Lighting

Greetings!

There are lots of ways in which you can beautifully decorate your home. You can explore the benefits of color, pattern, texture, you can try to combine different styles and you can also use accent lights to make your home more inviting and bright. Below are some suggestions we hope you will enjoy.

FI Boutique

Friedricks Interiors is proud to launch the FI Boutique. The Boutique will offer our exclusive lines which customers can buy directly from our Facebook Page.

To start we are offering a beautiful series of lamps.
We plan on extending the boutique and offering tables, accessories, and pillows etc.

Table Lamps

Lamps are very commonly used as accent features. Most often, a lamp would stand out with its design or shape. In some cases color is used to make the lamp stand out. The great thing about lamps is that they have a double function and they are useful in two different ways. They are functional light features and they are useful whenever extra light is needed or when you want to create a more romantic or intimate atmosphere in the room.

Lamps can also be used as accent features in any room. The lamp can either match some of the elements in the décor or it can stand out completely. Either way, it will be a wonderful eye-catching feature.

Sconces

Sconces are mounted wall fixtures for people who don't know.  Sconces come in many different appearances; they can be electric or candle lit. Sconces don't take up much space so they give the impression of creating space in a room with the light they emit. Sconces allow you to add light but remain discrete; they don't overpower the eye but create a soft feel to any room. Sconces simply add decorative flair to any room.

Chandeliers

Chandeliers exude ambience and elegance. They can be super modern made of blown glass or very traditional with and old European style using crystal or glass. Most chandeliers can be dimmed or brightened to change the feel or the mood of the room at will.

Chandalettes
A very hot trend right now is Chandalettes or mini chandeliers (typically 9-12 inches); Perfect for bedrooms, bathrooms or hallways.

Floor Lamps

Ideal for upward or downward lighting especially a reading nook. They are romantic and versatile for any room.

Depending on the style you have chosen for the décor, the lamps can either blend in or stand out. A simple way of turning them into focal points is to use bright colors or extravagant details. Floor lamps are great for lighting both small and large areas. Because they are bigger and taller than table lamps, they can have more of an effect on the room in terms of texture, focal point, and amount of light.

Pendant Lighting

Pendant lights suspend from walls by chains or cords. Pendants bring light to places we need it like a kitchen but also grab people's attention. A simpler solution to lighting than the chandelier. Different shapes, colors, shades and materials determine the function and style of the pendant light and can be a wonderful accent to a room or space.

Recessed Lighting

Another options, this time very subtle, versatile and elegant, is to use recessed lighting. They are simple and can radically change the atmosphere in a room. They are almost the opposite of pendant lamps or chandeliers but the effect they have is subtle and strong at the same time, less dramatic but equally efficient.

Candlestick Lamps

These lamps have a very thin base .Take up little space but can still be very functional a lighter or less intrusive room accent that can add elegance to a room. Candlestick lamps are wonderful accent to a console in a hallway or a table behind a sofa.
