Harckham Endorsed by WHLEA & NYAGV

Support for Positions on First Responders, Public Security & Common-Sense Gun Safety Policies

The Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association (WHLEA) & New Yorkers Against Gun Violence (NYAGV) have endorsed Democratic candidate Pete Harckham for NY State Senate District 40 in a significant show of support for his positions on first responders, public security and common-sense gun safety. These endorsements follow Harckham’s recipient of a Gun Sense Candidate Distinction by Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the United States.

"The Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association is proud to endorse Pete Harckham for NY State Senate in the 40th District,” said Sgt. Hector Lopez, president of WHLEA. “It is an honor to offer our endorsement and help his political campaign. We believe in him and the issues that he stands for. The work that he does for the community is a testament to his understanding on the issues at hand”.

“New York State has saved lives by enacting strong gun laws but we still have work to do to protect our families and communities,” said Rebecca Fischer, NYAGV executive director. “We need lawmakers who will advance life-saving gun violence prevention policies to close gaps that remain in our state law. We endorse Pete Harckham because he has demonstrated that he has the leadership to stand up to the gun lobby and politicians who have blocked sensible gun safety legislation. We urge residents of the Senate District 40 to vote for him on November 6th”.

"I'm proud to receive the endorsement of this police organization and gun safety group," said Harckham. "We stand together for the security of first responders and passing sensible gun safety bills, one of the most important things we can do if we flip the NY State Senate on Election Day".

Harckham, whose opponent has an "A Rating" from the NRA and has called for the repeal of New York’s SAFE Act, added that passing the Red Flag bill would be a priority for his first 30 days in office if elected, elaborating in a video at: https://www.facebook.com/PeteforNY/videos/225715601616813/
