Have Coffee With A Cop In Mount Kisco On Saturday

The event will give residents an opportunity to chat with the county police officers who patrol the village.

Westchester County Police are inviting members of the Mount Kisco community to a “Coffee with a
Cop” event on Saturday at Bagel and Bean Cafe on South Moger Avenue.

The event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, will give residents an opportunity to chat with the
county police officers who patrol the village. The goal is to build relationships and trust between the officers
and the people they serve.

“Police officers most often meet the public while responding to calls or handing stressful incidents,”
Acting Commissioner Martin McGlynn said. “We look forward to simply sharing a cup of coffee and some
conversation with the people of Mount Kisco.”

McGlynn said the event was a great opportunity for residents to discuss community issues and concerns
or find out more about the work police officers do.

“We are grateful to the folks at Bagel and Bean Café for opening their doors to us and hosting this
community event,” McGlynn said.

Coffee With a Cop was started by the Hawthorne (CA) Police Department and has spread nationwide as
a simple but effective way for police to break down barriers and build stronger relationships with the
community.

“The Coffee with a Cop events are designed to let citizens come into a local restaurant or coffee shop, sit
down with an officer, and talk about anything,” said Sgt. Chris Cognac of the Hawthorne PD. “Coffee with a
Cop has a mantra of no agenda and no speeches – keep it simple, keep it transparent, and keep it real.”Bagel and Bean Café is at 25 South Moger Avenue.
