Good morning,
After Mayhem and Drama left for school this morning, I grabbed my coffee and sat down to check whatever it is that we all check on the computer. I do this most mornings to delay doing exercise. Interestingly I found that I sold a full length pre owned Fox coat at midnight to a woman in Kazakhstan. Midnight here, noonish there. She paid instantly with her pay pal account. It is 20C there right now which is 68 F. Shes getting ready for a normal Kazakhstan winter which averages about -4. This got me thinking about how small this world is and what else might be in her closet. This coat that will travel for weeks to get to her, I am hoping she will wear it well and maybe even share it or pass down in her family. This makes me smile. Have you every thought about what is in your family's closets, and I'm not talking about skeletons? We can tell a lot about ourselves and our families by what's behind that door. Although my wardrobe these days consists of running pants, sneakers, jeans and fleeces, I do secretly lust for the clothing you see on the first 25 pages of Vanity Fair Magazine and a fabulous place to wear them as they would probably stick out at Mayhem's Lacrosse practice. Chanel, Prada, Gucci you know what I mean. My mother, from whom I've inherited a love of beautiful things has a closet full of these soft, well cut pieces of heaven, most of which, for as long as I can remember, she has never paid retail for. So in a sense, my job of selling and my admiration for gorgeous pre owned luxury goods runs in my bloodline. She even has vintage 70s items back in the depths of her closet that I remember from old photographs. I remember where she wore them and to what party. So I ask you, not only what is in your closet but what's in your family's closet. Some of it you need to keep because they connect you to a memory. Others, not so much. The ones that you can live without, you may want to consider selling on ebay, making room for a current fabulous piece of heaven that you have been pining for, or just more room in that closet!
