Knocked Down by Her Own Car: Mount Kisco Police Blotter
plus disorderly conduct; 9-year-old strayed from home; drunk bicyclist and more

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent incidents to which Westchester County Police have responded in Mount Kisco.
Friday, Sept. 2 – 9:55 a.m. – Westchester County Police went to the Guard Hill Manor condominiums off North Bedford Road after a resident who had left for vacation called to say she was concerned she left the garage door open. Officers found the garage door was closed and the residence was secure.
12:53 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a business on North Bedford Road on an activated burglar alarm. It was determined that the alarm had sounded in error.

Thursday, Sept. 1 – 12:30 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Caren Court on a report that a 9-year- old boy was missing. The boy had been given permission to go outside the house but told to stay in the yard. As officers arrived, the boy was located a few blocks away by a relative who was searching for him.
9:03 a.m. – A business owner on East Main Street reported that several men were on his property and had been congregating there in the morning on other recent occasions. The men were advised that the owner did not want them on the property and they left without incident.

Wednesday, Aug. 31 – 1:55 p.m. – A 61-year- old Bronx woman suffered a leg injury in the parking lot at T.J. Maxx on Main Street when she was knocked down by her own car as she exited the vehicle. The woman had left the car in reverse gear by accident and was knocked over when the car moved backwards as she was getting out. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center for treatment.
8:08 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Moore and Lexington Avenues on a report that a bicyclist had possibly been hit by a car. Officers determined that a bicyclist who was highly intoxicated had fallen from the bike and had not been hit by a car. The man was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center to be examined for injuries.
Monday, Aug. 29 – 1:18 p.m. – An auto dealership on Kisco Avenue reported to Westchester County Police that a dealer plate was stolen overnight off a car that was parked in its lot.
12:47 p.m. – The owner of a Subaru Impreza reported to Westchester County Police that her car was damaged, apparently by hit-and- run driver, while her vehicle was parked on a meter near 144 East Main Street. The car’s front bumper was hanging off when the owner returned to her car. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to find anyone who witnessed the incident.
10:17 a.m. – A village resident came to the Westchester County Police precinct on Green Street to report that he lost his driver’s license. The man said he last had the license in Times Square in Manhattan the previous Saturday night. A computer entry was made and the man was provided with information on how to obtain a replacement through DMV.
Sunday, Aug. 28 – 6:30 p.m. – A Maple Avenue resident was arrested on multiple charges after he was found asleep on a bench in Kirby Plaza and became confrontational after an officer woke him up. Sgt. Cary Robinson observed the man sleeping on a bench with an open beer bottle at his feet and instructed him to leave the area. Several hours earlier, the same man was sleeping on a wall in the same area and had similarly been told to leave. During the second encounter, the man became argumentative, refused to leave and then struggled with Robinson while being placed under arrest.
Carlos Soto, 48, of Maple Avenue was charged with Criminal Mischief 4 th Degree and Resisting Arrest, misdemeanors, and Disorderly Conduct, a violation. The criminal mischief charge was lodged because Soto allegedly caused minor damage to the patrol car while being taken into custody.
Soto was released on $100 bail and is due in Mount Kisco Justice Court on Sept. 15.
