Local DAR Celebrates Anniversary of George & Martha Washington
Members of Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR celebrate at the New York City Chapter, NSDAR's annual luncheon
New York, NY - Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR celebrated the 260th Anniversary of George and Martha Washington’s Wedding Day at the New York City Chapter, NSDAR’s annual luncheon on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at The Colony Club. The celebration featured guest speaker Valerie Tripp, author of many historical fiction books in the American Girls Collection.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members descend from patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With 178,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
