Local DAR Chapter Hosts Clothing Drive for Kids’ Kloset

Donate winter coats and seasonally-appropriate clothing at hip-kid through October 14th

Chappaqua, New York – The Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR is collecting new and gently used winter coats and seasonally-appropriate children's clothing (sizes newborn - XXXL) to benefit Kids' Kloset. Sneakers and winter boots are also being collected, as well as underwear and socks, which must be new in the package. Visit hip-kid at 77 S Greeley Avenue in Chappaqua to drop off your donations by 1 pm on Sunday, October 14th.

Kids’ Kloset is a volunteer-driven program that provides under-served Westchester County children with donated clothing and related items. Nearly 13% of Westchester County children under 18 live in poverty. Since Kids’ Kloset opened in 2011, it has provided over 16,000 bags of clothing, footwear, diapers, and other baby essentials to local children.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members descend from patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With 178,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
