The Lustgarten Foundation's "Race 4 A Cure" Held at Grand Prix New York Raises More Than $140,000 For Pancreatic Cancer Research

The Lustgarten Foundation's "Race 4 A Cure" event, which was held recently at Grand Prix New York, raised more than $140,000.

The Lustgarten Foundation’s “Race 4 A Cure” event, which was recently held at Grand Prix New York, raised more than $140,000 to benefit The Lustgarten Foundation, the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. More than 400 people throughout Westchester attended to help raise money for The Lustgarten Foundation’s mission to ad-vance research related to the diagnosis, treatment, and cure for pancreatic cancer.

Event co-chairs, Hope Wolfe and Jessica Newshel, worked with a committee of 12 local fam-ilies to create the fundraiser. The event was catered in part by Restaurant North and enter-tainment was provided by Total Entertainment. The event was held at Grand Prix New York, well known for its go-kart racing, bowling, and arcade games.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the success of ‘Race 4 A Cure’. The Westchester com-munity clearly embraced our desire to support pancreatic cancer research and The Lust-garten Foundation’s mission. We look forward to next year’s event,” said event co-chairperson, Hope Wolfe.

The Lustgarten Foundation is America’s largest private foundation dedicated to funding pancreatic cancer research. Based in Bethpage, New York, the Foundation supports re-search to find a cure for pancreatic cancer, facilitates dialogue within the medical and scien-tific community, and educates the public about the disease through awareness campaigns and fundraising events. Since its inception, the Foundation has directed more than $110 million to research and assembled the best scientific minds with the hope that one day, a cure can be found. Cablevision Systems Corporation, a leading media and telecommunica-tions company, underwrites The Lustgarten Foundation’s administrative costs, so 100 per-cent of every dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to pancreatic cancer research. The Lustgarten Foundation and Cablevision are also partners in the curePC public aware-ness campaign in support of the fight against pancreatic cancer.
