Man Accused of Drunk Car Theft
The owner left his pickup running for a second while he went back in the house.....

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Pablo Amaya-Rodriguez, 26, of Lexington Avenue was arrested on Grand Larceny and other charges Aug. 13 after he was found driving a pickup truck that had just been stolen in the village.
Officers Sal Bunting and Ahmid Bitawi were responding to Spring Street at 5 a.m. on a report of a stolen vehicle when Bitawi observed a Chevrolet Colorado pickup traveling on Main Street that fit the description of the stolen vehicle. The officer made a U-turn to follow the vehicle, which then turned on to Kirby Plaza and Sough Moger Avenue and sped off in an effort to elude the officer. The vehicle pulled over at Lexington and Gregory avenues.
Amaya-Rodriguez was taken into custody and subsequently charged with Grand Larceny 3 rd Degree, a felony, and Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He also was issued summonses for speeding, driving without a license and not using a seat belt.

The owner of the pickup truck said it was taken after his wife briefly left it running in front of their Spring Street home, police said.
