Meet the Writer of 'Insurgent,' 'Total Recall' and More

Lohud debuts a speaker series with Hollywood screenwriter Mark Bomback of New Castle.

The Lohud Influencer Speaker Series, created by The Journal News/lohud.com, will debut on Feb. 17.

The series, hosted by Engagement Editor Swapna Venugopal Ramaswamy, will feature leaders in varied fields who have chosen to call the Lower Hudson Valley home. The proceeds from the events, held at various locations, will benefit local nonprofit organizations.

The first speaker in the series will be Hollywood screenwriter Mark Bomback, whose credits include “Insurgent”; “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”; “The Wolverine”; “Total Recall”; and “Live Free or Die Hard.”

Bomback’s talk at the Chappaqua Library is titled: “SCREENPLAY BY: The role of the screenwriter in the filmmaking process.” Proceeds from the event will go to Friends of the Chappaqua Library.

Bomback, a New Rochelle native, resides with his family in New Castle.
