Mount Kisco Applebee's is Closed

The restaurant lost its lease, The Examiner reports.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — The Applebee's in Mount Kisco has closed. The restaurant on Route 117 at the corner of Preston lost its lease, The Examiner reported. It had been in operation 20 years.

According to The Examiner, there's a proposal out there for a Starbucks with a drive-through on that busy corner. Urban Edge Properties made a presentation about it to the village earlier this year. The concept also included a retailer and an unnamed unnamed fast-food restaurant.

Such a plan would require a zoning variance, because the village code prohibits drive-throughs for food service, the paper reported.
