MOUNT KISCO, NY — Every local business has a story worth sharing with the community. And that’s the belief behind this series — to shine the spotlight on all our favorite local businesses, and to learn a little about the ones we may not know that well. Today, meet Right Click Solutions, owned by two people who are very active in the Mount Kisco community.

How did you come up with the name?

We thought of words relevant to us and the industry. We knew we wanted to stand out and be a resource to businesses needing technology solutions. Traditionally, most people use a left mouse click for most functions, so we figured when you ‘Right Click’ it’s usually for a special purpose. We added solutions to the name to let businesses and organizations know we are being proactive when it comes to technology.

Why start a business in this town?

We live in Mount Kisco and our children would be going to school in this town. We figured there wasn’t a better place to invest in a community where we lived and our children would be going to school.

What business are you in?

Technology Consulting

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

There is a lot of competition in this industry, so being able to differentiate ourselves by providing exceptional customer service and showing our customers the value our services have to their organization.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

Growing the organization from one to 10 employees and retaining our first two employees since we started the organization.

How does your business give back to the community?

Right Click Solutions has donated a park bench to the Village/Town of Mount Kisco, in honor of celebrating the 10 year anniversary in business, which is located outside the Mount Kisco Public Library. The company also participates annually with the Mount Kisco beautification committee to clean up Main Street. We have partnered with Fox Lane High School ASPIRE program to offer internship opportunities to students interested in the field of Information Technology. A large percentage of organizations we service are non-profits, therefore when given old hardware that it is good condition, we repurpose it to be utilized by organizations in need. Dan Taplitz, owner of Right Click Solutions, is currently the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce President and he is also an active member of the Mount Kisco Rotary Club. Sammi Taplitz, also owner of Right Click Solutions, is the Fox Lane Middle School Association Communications board of director.
