Mount Kisco Food Pantry Named Organization of the Year by Chamber of Commerce

The pantry's 190 volunteers serve 267 households each week.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, an affiliation of 13 faith-based community congregations dedicated to providing food to those in need in the greater Mount Kisco area, was chosen by the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce as Organization of the Year. The award was given during the Chamber’s Annual Dinner on May 4.

“We are honored to receive this award from the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce and are so grateful to them for recognizing the hard work and commitment of our volunteers,” said Laura Desmarais, President of The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry. “We are so proud to be part of the Mount Kisco community where we are committed to creating a healthier and stronger community for all who live here.”

On a weekly basis, the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry offer hundreds of local families and individuals free high-quality grocery staples ranging from fresh produce, dairy, eggs and bread to non-perishables and frozen meat/fish. In addition to being a choice pantry, the Pantry also provides home deliveries to those in need, nutrition and health workshops and assistance in registering for federal food assistance programs.

“We are grateful for the work that the Pantry has done and the invaluable service they have provided over the years to make Mount Kisco such a wonderful place to be,” said Dan Taplitz, MKCC Board President.

The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry depends on the help of its community volunteers and is committed to creating a healthier and stronger community for all. Each year, more than 190 community members, many of those from 13 faith-based congregations, dedicate their time to supporting the Pantry. On average, the pantry serves 267 households each week.
