Mount Kisco Named a Top Place to Start a Business in New York
New rankings put several lower Hudson Valley communities in the top places for starting a business in the state.

Mount Kisco is the one of the best places to start a business in New York State, according to new rankings released Monday by NerdWallet.
The site analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau to rank the business climate and economic health of 83 New York communities. NerdWallet restricted its analysis to areas with populations above 5,000.
Mount Kisco came in at No. 9 on their list and was one of the top Westchester communities to be ranked. Here’s what they said:

Despite the village’s relatively small size, there are over 17 businesses per 100 people, one of the highest ratios on our top 10 list. Mount Kisco’s 1,911 businesses bring in an average of $972,664 in revenue per business each year. Businesses in the area are promoted on MtKisco.com. Major business organizations in the area include the Business Council of Westchester and the Westchester County Association.

Other lower Hudson Valley communities with high rankings included Rye, Tarrytown, Scarsdale, Mamaroneck, Dobbs Ferry, New Rochelle, Port Chester, Yonkers, Haverstraw, Ossining, Peekskill, West Haverstraw, Mount Vernon and Spring Valley.
