Mount Kisco Yeshiva Building Demolished After Inferno

No one was injured.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — A main building at the yeshiva complex on Nitra Road was destroyed by fire on Friday, and firefighters were called back six times over three days as the ruins continued to smolder and re-ignite.

The building was occupied but everyone was able to get out, Mount Kisco Fire Chief Al Bueti told The Examiner. Under mutual aid, about 20 local fire departments and EMS agencies either fought the fire or provided backup for fire companies at the scene.

The yeshiva, next to the Croton Reservoir, had no water of its own, so water was trucked in from half-a-mile away, The Examiner reported.
