Mt. Kisco Announces Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Drop off your unwanted, expired prescription medications for safe disposal

Mount Kisco Partners in Prevention and Mount Kisco Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Council are sponsoring their semi-annual prescription drug take back day on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10am to 2pm, at the Mount Kisco Police Station, 40 Green Street at Moger Avenue.
Mt. Kisco residents are encouraged to drop off their unused, unwanted or outdated prescription medications during the hours of collection. The collected medications are turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for proper disposal.
Residents should obscure or remove personally identifying information from the packaging.

“We participate in the national Prescription Drug Take Back Day on a local level to safely and properly dispose of prescriptions from our community. Removing these drugs from the home minimizes the risk they may be found by teens or children,” said Domingo Maceira, LCSW-R, Coalition Coordinator.
“Prescription drugs that languish in home medicine cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. We encourage all residents to clear out their medicine chests and bring the unwanted prescriptions to the collection site,” said Mount Kisco Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Council's Chairman, Mel Berger, who has spearheaded local participation in Take-Back Day since its inauguration by the DEA in 2009.
