Mt Kisco Wants More Info On DOT Plan for Rte 117 at Rte 172
The intersection at the entrance to Northern Westchester Hospital Center is often congested.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Mount Kisco village officials are concerned about new plans from the New York State Transportation Department to modify the intersection of routes 172 and 117. They've asked the DOT to share its traffic study.
What was once a T-intersection (where North Bedford Road/ Main Street meets South Bedford Road, which goes east) now includes the entrance to Northern Westchester Hospital Center. It gets heavy traffic from all directions. The approaches are often backed up, specially into the village and out Route 172 at rush hour.
The DOT plan is to make it a traditional 4-way intersection, without the right turn "slip" lanes, village officials said on Facebook.
