New Castle Coronavirus Volunteers Feed Hospitals, Help Eateries
A trio of New Castle residents are getting a generous response from residents who want to help local restaurants and honor healthcare staff.
NEW CASTLE, NY — A trio of New Castle residents want to pay for local hospital staff lunch and dinners during the coronavirus outbreak. Rob Greenstein, Georgia Frasch and Deborah Garfield have started a GoFundMe effort called Feed Our Healthcare Providers to raise money to cover the costs, and so far they've raised more than $34,000.
"We are coordinating with unit heads, nurses, etc. and with the restaurants," said Garfield. "A contact person at any of the hospitals can call any of the restaurants and place orders, letting them know the cost is being covered by the GoFundMe. The restaurants will keep track and send us invoices and we will pay them out of the Fund."
With the peak of the infection still two to three weeks away, so many residents are asking how they can help, organizers said on GoFundMe. Likewise, our residents want to help our restaurants which are struggling with the restrictions. Here's a way to support our healthcare providers and support our local restaurants.
