New Castle Democrats Name Candidates For Town Offices
New Castle Democrats 2019 will hold a launch party Thursday at Scattered Books Bookstore in Chappaqua.

NEW CASTLE, NY — New Castle Democrats 2019 announce their candidacies for Town Board.
Current Councilwoman Ivy Pool will seek the position of Town Supervisor. Councilman Jeremy Saland is running for re-election, and first-time candidate Jason Lichtenthal seeks the position of Town Councilman.
Pool, Saland, and Lichtenthal will run as a slate with the endorsement of the New Castle
Democratic Committee.
Current Democratic Councilwoman Hala Makowska, who was elected in 2015, has announced that she will not seek reelection.

Council members are elected for four-year terms. The Town Supervisor is elected to a two-year term.
With the passage of voting reform legislation in January, candidates for local elected offices start Tuesday to gather signatures on petitions to appear on the ballot. The primary election will be held June 25, and the general election will be on Nov. 5.

New Castle Democrats 2019 plan a launch party and petition signing event on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Scattered Books Bookstore in Chappaqua. The three candidates will be joined at this event by Democrat Vedat Gashi, a candidate for Westchester County Legislator.
