“Vendors and shoppers alike endured some cold days over the past couple of winters. We really appreciated the community support,” said Frankie Rowland, Director of Community Relations for Westchester and Rockland Counties at Down to Earth Markets. “Yet, as you can imagine, we were eager to find an indoor market venue. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Ray Sanchez, School Superintendent, the Ossining Union Free School Board, and Claremont Elementary this year.”

As of press time, the Ossining winter roster includes: Amazing Real Live Food Company, Bread Alone, Gajeski Produce, Kiernan Farm, Mead Orchards, Meredith’s Bread, Pickle Licious, Pura Vida Fisheries, and Yellow Bell Farm. Together these vendors will bring fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, pasture-raised meats, poultry, and eggs, pickles, cheese, delicious breads and baked goods (both regular and gluten-free), as well as a wide range of prepared foods to go.

In addition to the weekly line-up, the market will expand with rotating vendors over the season. This line-up continues to grow and will vary from week to week. As of now, the market plans to welcome Bombay Emerald Chutney Company, Hudson River Apiaries, Kontoulis Family Olive Oil, OM Champagne Tea, Sisters Wicked Good Soap, Taiim Falafel Shack, and Wave Hill Breads.

Down to Earth Markets, together with ECOBAGS®, Riverkeeper, and Green Ossining, recently launched an initiative to eliminate plastic bags from the market. As a result of the ongoing BYOBag Progam, it’s estimated that 60-70% of market customers now shop with reusable bags every week.

Sharon Rowe, ECOBAGS® Founder, will offer their reusable bags at deeply discounted prices to the community on Opening Day of the Ossining Winter Farmers Market.
