Pediatric Brain Tumors – It Can Happen to Anyone

It opens with the voice of Vanessa Williams: “Did you know that brain and spinal cord tumors are the deadliest form of pediatric cancer?” The first-ever Making Headway outreach video, dramatizes what it is like for a regular family to realize that their child has a brain tumor. “We had 90 seconds to show an entire year in the life of a family, it was quite a challenge”, said Daniel Lipka, Executive Director of Making Headway Foundation. Filming and editing took months, but the final product successfully informs people about pediatric brain tumors in a captivating and honest way. Additionally, the producers of the video, acclaimed documentary firm ORG® Media (www.jointhe.org), are finishing up a behind-the scenes mini-film about Making Headway, featuring Ashley Wagner and her family. Ashley was diagnosed with DIPG (one of the very worst types of brain tumors) as a young child. The video explores her family’s journey and how Making Headway Foundation impacted their lives.
