Police blocked off a large section of the Village Centre Lot in downtown Mount Kisco after it became inundated with rain. Nearby brook had so much rain in it that it merged with adjacent asphalt in the lot, in effect becoming one body of water. Leonard Park also sustained heavy flooding, with a driveway compromised by a stream overflowing.
At several points, a number of roads in New Castle were hit, including South Greeley Avenue, Route 117, Seven Bridges Road and Roaring Brook Road, near the train tracks. That portion of Roaring Brook was closed off for part of the day, police said in an online Nixle alert. The flooding subsided by the afternoon.
Going forward, there is a hazardous weather outlook and a flash flood watch in effect for northern Westchester County through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
