Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR Attends 122nd DAR NY State Conference
Chapter receives national & state recognition for outstanding volunteer efforts
Rochester, New York – Several members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR attended the 122nd Daughters of the American Revolution New York State Conference on September 21-23, 2018 in Rochester, New York. The chapter placed first in the state for their Outstanding Achievement in the Promotion of Literacy. In addition, Kari Weis, Organizing Chapter Regent of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR, received the New York State Outstanding Chapter Regent award.
Among the many honors and certificates received, some of the highlights from National Committees included:
- Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR received honorable mention (second place) in the 2018 National Outstanding Service by a Chapter Literacy Promotion Committee Contest
- Volunteer Information Specialist (VIS) Committee (Jennifer Brola, Kathy Schrieber, and Kari Weis) received second place for the Most Social Media Sites Submitted by a Chapter for VIS Approval
- DAR Magazine Committee received platinum level recognition for having 116% of the chapter membership subscribed to the DAR Magazine, American Spirit, in 2017 (placing the chapter in the top 5 of all chapters in the nation)
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children.
