Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR Honors Community Members

Chapter recently acknowledged Kimber Frank Sanseverino, Gray Williams, Nancy Mettz, and Susan Murphy at luncheon.

Chappaqua, New York – Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR celebrated their Chapter Awards Luncheon to honor the extraordinary volunteer efforts of local community members on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua, NY.

Kimber Frank Sanseverino received the Community Service Award for her extensive volunteer work with the New Castle Historical Society and the Horace Greeley House Museum. In addition to volunteering with the NCHS’s Museum Education Committee, Kimber also serves as co-chair of NCHS’s annual ‘Castles of New Castle’ House Tour.

Gray Williams, who serves as Historian of the New Castle Historical Society, was honored with the Historic Preservation medal for his leadership in historic preservation, his tireless preservation efforts in Chappaqua and New Castle, his work to interest the public in preservation and tourism, and his assistance to the Polly Cooper Chapter. The Historic Preservation medal is the most prestigious preservation award presented by the National Society, with fewer than 30 awarded each year throughout the United States.

DAR members Nancy Mettz and Susan Murphy, of the Colonel Gilbert Potter Chapter and North Riding Chapter respectively, were presented with the Polly Cooper Award for selflessly giving their time and talent to assist the Polly Cooper Chapter during its inaugural year. The Polly Cooper Chapter also presented a donation to the New Castle Historical Society.

The NSDAR is open to all women, ages 18 and older, who have a direct line to a Patriot who served in the American Revolution. Genealogists are available to help those seeking membership with their applications.
