Results Week 6

Chestnut Ridge Racquet Club edged Saw Mill Club by 5 matches to 4 in another exciting "A" League contest. It was third time this season that Chestnut Ridge had squeezed out a 5 match to 4 win. The others coming against Armonk Tennis Club and Hardscrabble Club. Chestnut Ridge are still undefeated with just one week left in the season and have clinched the "A" League Championship.
The match with Saw Mill Club was decided in the Girls 12s singles match. Playing an 8 game pro set, Nicole Warshaw, Chestnut Ridge, raced out to a 7-1 lead with aggressive baseline play. Her opponent, Martha Topolnitski, never gave up and steadied her game gradually working her way back into the match. She got it back to 7-5 before Warshaw clinched it on her second match point.
Several teams are still in contention for the "B" League Championship as there is still one more week of scheduled play and some rained out matches to be made up.
Hardscrabble Club were decisive winners in The "C" League which wrapped up its schedule this past week.
