Sheriff: Woman Caught Shoplifting in Southeast

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Bronx woman on a charge of Petit Larceny.

Deputy Sheriff Thomas Des Jardins responded March 9 to a report of a shoplifter in custody at the Home Depot in Southeast. The asset protection manager allegedly had observed a woman conceal items of merchandise and then leave the store without paying for them.

The woman was identified as Suzanna M. Love, 38, of 55 East 196th Street, Bronx, New York. The deputy arrested Love and charged her with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor.

She appeared in front of Town of Kent Justice Kevin Douchkoff and was sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200 cash bail or $500 bond pending a future appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, she could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
