Siegel Bros. offers Saturday Afternoon Mixology and Food & Beer Pairing Events

Siegel Bros. Wine & Spirits brings with over four decades of industry knowledge, retail experience, and most of all, a passion for the art of wine and spirits. Spearheaded by the Nevins Family, brothers Jeremy and Doug Nevins, and their father Bruce, along with seasoned beverage director Ed Costa, this talented team continues to be ahead of the curve within the retail wine and spirits market throughout New York and Connecticut.

Saturdays, Siegel Bros. teams up with local bartenders and mixologists to offer Mixology Sessions. This free event offers tastings and demonstrations from some of the best behind the bar in Westchester and Fairfield counties.

SLOVENIA VODKA
May 13th, 2-4 PM

Slovenia Vodka creator Chef Peter Kelly of X20 on the Hudson, and mixologist Maya Laurincova, pay a visit to Siegel Bros. Wine & Spirits for an afternoon of cocktails featuring the ultimate Dirty Martini and a refreshing Elderberry Fizz.

Slovenia Vodka, noted as a “Chef’s Vodka,” is the creation of Chef Kelly who has long touted the virtues of the wine and artisan products from the tiny country of Slovenia. Working with a distiller located just north of Ljubljana and utilizing their century’s old “pot” still, Chef Kelly created vodka with the waters that flow from the Julian Alps and a hint of Buckwheat, a heritage grain that grows wild in Slovenia. Upon completing a series of tasting panels, friends and fans of the new spirit brand, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Bill Murray, hopped on board to lend their support and public influence as brand ambassadors. Slovenia Vodka has been touted as a “crisp, clean spirit” and one to “sip straight or enjoyed with a well-mixed craft cocktail.”

BURGERS + BREWS EVENT
May 20th, 2-4 PM

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend BBQs, the brew masters from Yonkers Brewing Co. will ascend upon Siegel Bros. Marketplace and the Wine & Spirits shop for a tasting of their flagship beers; the 914 Vienna Lager and the Hop Runner India Pale Ale (plus maybe one specialty brew!). Adding to the celebration of locally brewed craft beer, Chef Dave Nevins gets in on the action, paring these full bodied brews with his Marketplace custom ground burgers! Come for a taste...

SBM Cheeseburger paired with Yonkers '914 Vienna Lager'
In-house ground beef pattie with thinly cheddar cheese, sliced pickles, chopped onion, ketchup and Dijon mustard.

Moroccan Lamb Burger paired with Yonkers 'Hop Runner IPA'
In-house ground lamb, Moroccan spices, feta cheese, charred frisee and curried tomato jam.

Also, Chef Dave is going to make his amazing beer braised jumbo shrimp cocktail using Yonkers 'Hop Runner IPA.'
