While keeping busy cozying into my new place, building furniture and painting walls I nearly forgot Memorial Day weekend starts-err-tomorrow. With the cost of moving and furnishing I won't be traveling far and wide this first holiday of the summer. Good news is I have a playground in my backyard. By playground I mean Village Social Kitchen + Bar ;) Obviously today's weather does not permit my basking in the sun, catching some vitamin D on the patio while indulging with a fresh batch of sangria. Orange happens to be my favorite color-so the large bright hue of the umbrellas were extremely inviting when I drove by for the first time. Speaking of colors, I also enjoy their Pink Social-ade: Svedka Citron / Lemon Juice / Simple Syrup / Cranberry. Ooh la la The cuisine here is also to die for. Chef Mogan certainly knows what he's doing in the kitchen. The man is a culinary genius. Today's lunch specials alone had me working faster to get my butt over there to taste. I had the Crab salad-CucumberTomatoOnionCelery LeafRadishHudson Valley Crema. I can't wait to visit again this weekend-they've been hosting late night DJs on Fridays & Saturdays after 9 and it's been getting quite the buzz. They're calling it the "Social Scene" and using a really cute stamp effect with the logo. It's been packed with a very good looking more mature crowd than some of the other local bars. This past Friday they catered to us ladies ;) with a "Femme Friday" offer of 1/2 price sangria pitchers after 9. They definitely know the way to my heart. Hopefully this rain blows over soon because I've had just about enough of this icky stuff. I am more than ready to begin my holiday weekend with the staff and locals over at Village. Seems like they are kicking off summer in all the right ways. Thanks to them my staycation won't be nearly as dreadful as I had thought! I'll be sure to post updates about my venture there ;)
