Teenager Lured By Rapist Found With Phone App

The girl escaped and was found by New Castle police after her mom pinpointed her location.

MILLWOOD, NY — A 40-year-old who raped a teenager he met on the internet and lured to his apartment has been convicted of third-degree rape, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Friday. Victor Gonzalez faces sentencing March 26.

She reported to the police she met Gonzalez on the internet and agreed to meet him in White Plains. He met her near the train station June 21 and took her to his residence in New Castle, prosecutors said. The victim remembers waking up in his apartment with him on top of her engaging in sexual intercourse.

The teenager fled the apartment when Gonzalez used the bathroom. She sent a text message to her mom asking for help but did not know where she was.

New Castle police received a phone call about a missing 16-year-old teenager.

The mother gave New Castle police a location from the “Find My I-Phone” application, and they responded and began searching the area. They found the girl hiding in some bushes, disheveled and upset.

Shortly thereafter, they arrested Gonzalez.

Gonzalez entered his plea Tuesday in the Westchester County Sex Offense Court before Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace.
