Threat of Job Loss Sends Rockland Maintenance Workers to Alpine NJ

The protest comes on the heels of a contract dispute between the long-term maintenance workers and the Kamson Corporation.
Union officials said the company is demanding the unilateral power to contract out the maintenance employees’ work, a move they believe could potentially displace workers who have been toiling at the Warren Hills apartments for years.

“The long-term and hardworking men and women who take care of these buildings deserve respect,” said John Santos, Vice President of 32BJ SEIU. “These demands are putting their livelihoods at risk and potentially impacting the quality of the service. Tenants and workers deserve better.”
