Unattended Backpack Halts Train Service and More: Mt Kisco Police Blotter
Here are some of the recent activities of the Westchester County Police in Mount Kisco.

Friday, Jan. 8 –2:10 p.m. – Westchester County Police received a report that an emotionally disturbed person was screaming obscenities at the statue of Chief Kisco at Routes 133 and 117. Officers responded but the person was gone upon their arrival.
12:28 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Diplomat Drive after an elderly resident made an incoherent call to 911. Officers spoke with a home health aide who said that the call was made by the person in her care and that her client was agitated and refusing to take prescribed medication. Officers were able to calm the elderly resident who then agreed to take the medication.
Thursday, Jan. 7 – 6:18 p.m. – An unattended backpack discovered on a bench at the Mount Kisco railroad station lead Westchester County and MTA Police to close the station and halt train service for about 40 minutes. Explosive detection canines from both agencies were brought to the scene and the backpack was determined not to be a threat. MTA Police took possession of the backpack and are conducting a follow-up investigation.

1:50 p.m. – A person visiting the Mount Kisco Medical Group offices on South Bedford Road reported to county police that his car was damaged while it was parked at the office complex. The damage appears to have been caused by a hit-and-run driver.
Wednesday, Jan. 6 – 9:02 p.m. – A resident of Kensington Way reported that he had received a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be from the federal government. The man was advised not to provide any personal information over the phone. Westchester County Police remind all residents that government agencies will never ask for personal or financial information over the telephone and calls of such nature are a scam.

Monday, Jan. 4 – 2:37 p.m. -- A Grove Street resident came to the Westchester County Police precinct on Green Street to report that he had lost his driver’s license. The officer who took the report advised the man how to obtain a duplicate copy from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Saturday, Jan. 2 – 6 a.m. – Employees of the American gas station on Main Street discovered that the business was burglarized sometime overnight. A window was broken to gain entry and several thousand dollars in lottery tickets were stolen. An investigation is under way by detectives from the county police General Investigations Unit.
