Week 2 Results

Three of the "A" League matches this week were decided by one set. Armonk Tennis Club came back from a 4 match to 1 deficit at Saw Mill Club to claim a 5-4 win. Samantha Stone (Girls 17s) and Shea Gordon (Open 12s) clinched the final 2 matches for Armonk.

Chestnut Ridge Racquet Club topped Hardscrabble Club, the 2011 League Champs, also by a 5-4 score and the Willowbrook vs Waccabuc match was decided by the final match of the day.

All matches included very high quality junior tennis and the Chestnut Ridge vs Hardscrabble match featured some highly ranked international players.  Medi Abid from Tunisia won the Boys 17s singles for Hardscrabble. Medi is ranked in the top 100 junior players in the world by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Maja Maleau who is highly ranked in the girls singles in Poland helped secure Chestnut Ridge's victory with an impressive win in the Girl's 14s singles match.
