PaintCare is HERE!

Have old cans of paint lurking in your basement or garage?

This week New York State launched its paint recycling program, PaintCare. Residents can now dispose of a variety of paints including latex, acrylic, water based, oil based and enamels free of charge. The list of accepted items also includes stains, primers, sealers and more! Materials must be in their original, non-leaking containers.

Westchester County’s Household Material Recovery Facility (H-MRF) in Valhalla is also a program participant. They will accept all of the items which are part of the PaintCare program plus others which fall under their flammable liquids designation. Contact the H-MRF at (914) 813-5425 with any questions regarding the materials they accept.
