Westchester 44-Year-Old Gets 15 Years For Sexual Abuse Of 12-Year-Old

Achahui​ entered a guilty plea in connection to subjecting the child to sexual intercourse over several months in 2020.

NORTH CASTLE, NY — A North Castle man who repeatedly sexually abused a child for months has learned his fate.

Jorge Lazo Achahui was sentenced this week to 15 years in prison, with 20 years of post-release supervision, for engaging in sexual conduct with a child, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced on Wednesday. The 44-year-old will also be required to register as a sex offender after completing his prison sentence.

On September 28, 2022, Achahui entered a guilty plea to course of sexual conduct in the first degree, a violent felony, for subjecting the 12-year-old victim to sexual intercourse multiple times between March 2020 and July 2020.

The North Castle Police Department arrested Achahui on February 6, 2021, following their investigation, which was conducted with assistance from the District Attorney’s Office, the Westchester County Department of Laboratories and Research and the New York State Police Crime Lab.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charlotte Gudis of the Special Prosecutions Division.
