A Westchester Library Is Traveling Back In Time For A Day
The Chappaqua Library will be revisiting its home from 1930-1978 and you're invited to join them for the journey.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — Ahead of its centennial next month, the Chappaqua Library will be traveling back in time and turning the New Castle Community Center back into a "Library For A Day" this Saturday.
There are rules for time travel, but in this case, there is no need to worry about altering the future and changing the present into a dystopian nightmare.
Chappaqua Library staff will be revisiting the previous home of the Chappaqua Library from 1930 to 1978 for their family-friendly event and you're invited to join them for the afternoon and travel back in time to around 1922.

There will also be period-specific wooden toys, photos and documents from the archives and even a chance to date-stamp a book by hand just like our ancient ancestors did. A timeless picture book story time with Library Director Andrew Farber will take place at 3 p.m. and a scavenger hunt through town will help complete the trip down memory lane.
Georgia Frasch, the President of the New Castle Historical Society Board of Trustees, will attend to showcase the resources that make time travel possible anytime at NCHS.
This event was made possible by New Castle Recreation & Parks and the New Castle Historical Society.
The New Castle Community Center is located at 10 Senter St. in Chappaqua.
