Westchester’s ‘Most Popular’ Indoor Playspace to Launch New Programs, Branding, and Multi-Visit Packages

WeeZee –The Science of Play Enters Third Year with New Pediatrician Prescription Program and Expanded Summer Options; and Responds to Customer Demand for a “Multi-Visit Pass”

WeeZee – the World of Yes I Can! is now calling itself WeeZee - The Science of Play as it enters its third year as a top children’s play, learning and fitness facility in Westchester County.  Striving to optimize child health within a sensory environment, the 18,000 square foot WeeZee has announced a program that reaches pediatricians – a Sensory Prescription Program, as well as a host of new activities and camp options in time for summer.

WeeZee has also revamped its extremely popular “10-Visit Pass” program, in response to a barrage of parent requests following the discontinuation of a daily pass option this past February in lieu of a membership-only program.

“The importance of our program and its impact is far-reaching and we are aiming to listen to parents and hear their need for more and varied plans so that as many children as possible can have access to WeeZee’s unique and proven ‘science of play,’” said WeeZee Founder Louise Weadock, a registered child psychiatric nurse, graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and owner of ACCESS Nursing & Healthcare Services, now in its 30th year.

WeeZee is the only Sensory Gym in Westchester County and the largest Sensory Gym in the world – and has solidified its position as a facility whose worth extends beyond that of an ordinary play space by providing a scientific field of play. WeeZee’s Sensory Gym features equipment, coaches, programs, classes and personal trainers to guide every child to achieve a higher level of academic, social and athletic performance. At WeeZee, children ages 0-12 benefit from a multi-sensory fitness environment featuring more than 200 unique elements of training equipment and programs that engage and stimulate the child at every sensory level. WeeZee’s  sensory environment is a practical evolution of 30-years of scientific neuro-cognitive research conducted at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institute of Health (NIH). The elements found at WeeZee are re-engineered from the fields of cognitive connectivity and developmental neuroscience into a fun and therapeutic immersive sensory environment.

According to Weadock, WeeZee has already touched over 1,000 children since opening its doors at 480 N. Bedford Road in Chappaqua, NY in May, 2012.  Through free play, structured group classes and personal training sessions at WeeZee, parents report that they have seen significant improvements in their children both at home and at school. Parents attribute “time at WeeZee” with increases in their children’s academic, athletic and social performance, as well as boosted self-esteem and self-confidence.

Weadock conducted her own research on the effectiveness of the “Science of Play” this past year to quantify the results parents are seeing at WeeZee. The outcomes of WeeZee’s Sensory Fitness Program show that after spending at least a month at WeeZee with weekly visits, children have improved by:

“An invigorating environment stimulates the senses to perform at a higher level. Research shows that stimulating all of the five senses is critical to a child’s intellectual development and learning – both academically and socially,” said Weadock.

Announcing the New Programs “Now Playing” at WeeZee:

Pediatrician Prescription Program – This new program enables families with children who have sensory processing disorders to visit WeeZee without committing to a multi-visit package or a membership.  Pediatricians throughout Westchester County have been provided with WeeZee prescription pads and will be able to indicate which senses they would like WeeZee to focus on for the individual child, along with the total number of recommended visits.

“Our goal with this new Sensory Prescription Program is to help improve the overall health and well-being of children by strengthening their neuro-muscular pathways within each stage of their development,” said Weadock.

Multi-Visit Packages – Parents will need to complete a Sensory Assessment for their child online or in person to purchase any of these new packages:

•  5-pack - $225 ($45/visit)

• 10-pack - $400 ($40/visit)

• 20-pack - $600 ($30/visit)
