WACS hears partnership, project update (observertoday.com) — Westfield Academy and Central School is partnering with Chautauqua County’s C-SPOA program to better support students and families facing mental health and substance use challenges, while also closing back-of-school facilities for capital work starting June 29. Historic Big Boy No. 4014 to Make Stop in Ripley During America's 250th Anniversary Tour (chautauquacountyny.gov) — Chautauqua County residents can see Union Pacific’s massive Big Boy No. 4014 steam locomotive during a whistle-stop in Ripley on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from noon to 12:30 p.m. County and town officials expect big crowds and are urging visitors to follow detours, respect temporary closures, and stay safely off the tracks while enjoying this rare historic visit.

State won't lower Fredonia-Stockton Road speed (observertoday.com) — State transportation officials have rejected a request to lower the 55 mph speed limit near the LoGuidice Center on Fredonia-Stockton Road, a concern for many Chautauqua County drivers. Pomfret’s Town Board is also pursuing grants for a new town hall and approved a $50,000 government-reduction study with Chautauqua County while exploring shared dog control services.
