• Cheektowaga Man Going To Prison For Pointing A Laser At An Aircraft (vannuysnewspress.com) — A 31-year-old Cheektowaga man has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for pointing a green laser at a Delta flight approaching Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Federal prosecutors say he lived in the airport’s flight path, and Cheektowaga Police joined federal and transit authorities in the investigation that led to his conviction. 
• 'I'm really excited to start the journey': WNY native from SUNY Niagara drafted by Atlanta Braves (wkbw.com) — A Cheektowaga native, catcher Dalton Harper from SUNY Niagara, has been drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 16th round after a standout season and an NJCAA Division III national title. Harper, the division’s Player of the Year, says he’s excited to prove himself and credits his coaches, teammates, and family for helping him reach this milestone.
