Body Found In Hudson River Near Chelsea, Police Say

Officers found a body in the Hudson River near Chelsea, police said.

CHELSEA, NY — Officers found a dead body in the Hudson River Thursday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a call about a body floating in the Hudson River near Chelsea about 2:10 p.m. Thursday, police said.

When cops arrived, they found a fully clothed male floating, police said. He was then taken out of the water at Chelsea Piers near West 24th St. and 12th Ave., police said.

There were no obvious signs of trauma, and the investigation is ongoing. The person's age was not immediately known. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
