Blessing of the Animals, a beloved Marble Collegiate Church tradition, is back on Sunday, Oct. 11, at noon on the Fifth Avenue steps of the historic Sanctuary at 1 W. 29th Street. Marble ministers will be on hand to bless all kinds of animals, including plush toy animals. For pets that don’t travel well, attendees are encouraged to bring photographs of their pets for a blessing. This festive, community-oriented event will take place immediately after the 11 a.m. service.
NOTE: The Sanctuary will be animal-free. All pet lovers are welcome to watch the 11:00 a.m. service with their animals in the lower level Labyrinth Room.
About Marble Church: Marble Collegiate Church has stood on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 29th Street since 1854, with its ministry dating back to 1628. This vibrant, Protestant church (affiliations with The Reformed Church in America and The United Church of Christ) is a community where all of us are encouraged to become our best selves and serve New York City and the world.
