Chelsea Explosion: 23rd and 28th Street Subway Stations Remain Closed
Authorities said an update on the status of the stations would be made Monday morning. Some street closures remain in effect.

CHELSEA, NY — Subway service at the 23rd and 28th street stations along Seventh Avenue has not been restored following the aftermath of the explosion in Chelsea Saturday evening that left 29 people injured.
NYPD Chief of Transit Bureau Joseph Fox tweeted that stations would open as quickly as possible. At the moment, authorities are conducting a complete and thorough investigation. Fox said he would tweet about the status of the stations at 7 a.m. Monday.

An improvised device exploded Saturday around 8:30 p.m. on the corner of 23rd Street and 6th Avenue, injuring 29 people. Police later safely recovered a device on 27th Street that appeared to be a pressure cooker rigged to explode.
